Photographers (NOC 5221)

INCOME:
  1. starting income is ~$1,710
  2. maximum income is ~$28,610
  3. paid by both, salary and hourly
  4. benifits include dental coverage, paid sick days and vacation time

SKILLS REQUIRED:
  1. skills needed are good eyesight, artistic ability, good hand-eye coordination, patience, detail oriention, ability of working with others, and communication skills
  2. certificates needed are photographic arts degree/diploma program, and vacational training or extensive work experience
  3. to advance higher, skills such as experience, the ability to work with others, and the ability to phtograph in the studio and on location are needed
  4. tasks would include carrying photographer's equipment, handling administrative responsibilities, supervising staff, and taking photographs in studio and on location

WORKING ENVIRONMENT & CONDITIONS
  1. you work in studio and on location (any weather)
  2. a hazard would be being assigned to go to an unstable area of the world (wars)
  3. hazard safety would include good shoes for all types of weather
  4. machinery would include tripods, lenses, computers, and umbrellas
  5. work is done mostly independantly
  6. in association sports you would usuallly work in the winter seasons, and in association with activities you would work in the spring and summer

JOB OUTLOOK
  1. my career field is declining because of retirement and lack of experience, growing because of oppening (job oppotunities)
  2. entrepreneurial skills are necessary for starting a business
  3. due to retirement, the amount of jobs in the future will be 160 (2006-2011)

POST-SECONDARY TRAINING
  1. training would include business training and a degree/ diploma in the photographic arts

  4. other high school electives should include drafting and designing


Interior Designers (NOC 5242)

INCOME:

  2. maximum income is ~$35,000-60,000
  3. paid by salary
  4. benifits include medical care, dental care, social care, and insurence taxes

SKILLS REQUIRED
  1. skills needed: usign numbers in counting, measuring and arithmetic
  2. dipmloma or bachelor's degree in interior design are certificated needed
  3. to adveance higher you would need longterm experienc
  4. dealing with clients, managing projects, supervising staff members

WORKING ENVIRONMENT & CONDITIONS
  1. work is inside and outside buildings
  2. electrical wires, large objects and heavy equipment
  3. not needed
  4. no equpment needed
  5. most projects are individual work
  6. flexible working hours make any season busy
